Namiri Plains

Location: Serengeti Camps

Off-limits to tourists for two decades for big-cat research, this small, luxury camp lies in the eastern section of the Serengeti. Nestled amongst some fever trees, Namiri Plains has been designed to maximise views of the water source in front of the camp. Its 11 elegant and spacious tents — each with its own veranda and private outdoor bath — provide the perfect setting from which to watch the wildlife that congregates to drink.

Game viewing is spectacular and predator sightings (Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Hyena) are fantastic year round. When the Great Migration moves into the area (November-December), the plains explode into action, with massive herds heading south to calve.
