Email, Social Media and Website Enquiries:
  • When you request information and give us your email address, we will use it to provide you with the initial information requested and then further information until you ask us to stop (by contacting us by phone or email).
  • We will never share or sell your email to any third party for marketing purposes, but may do to fulfil our contact with you (see that section of our privacy statement below).
Using our website
  • Like most websites, our website uses cookies to understand viewer preferences, such as which pages are most popular, how much time is spent on each page and so on. While these cookies can tell us when you enter our site and which pages you visit, they cannot read data from your device.
  • Galago Travel uses certain information you provide to it to do a number of things relating to planning holidays. Galago Travel is therefore a data controller out operations manager and has responsibility as the data protection officer.
  • At enquiry stage we typically hold the following personal data: names, contact information (phone, email, postal), information regarding proposed travel, information regarding previous travel, likes and dislikes with regards to holidays, dates of birth of accompanying children, dates of anniversaries relevant to the holiday.
  • At this stage the legal basis for us processing the data is consent: the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.
  • At booking stage we typically hold all of the above personal data plus: dates of birth of adults, health information relevant to travel, dietary requirements, weights, name and contact detail of an emergency contact.
  • At this stage the legal basis for us processing the data is contract: the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.
  • We will obtain information directly from you about yourself (you are the data subject), but in many cases the person making an enquiry will also provide us with information about others who will join them on holiday (data not obtained directly from the data subject).
  • Before and after any booking you make we may use your name, post and email addresses to send marketing information to you. During the booking process we may also share some of your personal data with suppliers (those companies we contract to provide elements of the holiday) in order to obtain quotes and hold space provisionally. At the point a booking is made we may share some of your personal data with suppliers in order for them to host you. The nature of our business means these suppliers are generally in the African and Indian Ocean countries where the holiday will take place.
  • We typically keep data we have been provided until we discover it is out of date (emails bouncing back, posted newsletters returned) or we are requested to delete the information. Any data subject has the right to ask us to delete the information at any time and to lodge a complaint with theĀ ICO(LINK)
