Hwange

Location: Zimbabwe

Located in the west of Zimbabwe, Hwange is the countries largest National Park. With its vast Mopane and Teak woodlands, and seasonal wetlands and waterholes, Hwange provides excellent game viewing. It is home to healthy predator populations including Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Spotted Hyaena and even African Wild Dog. Elephant, Buffalo and Giraffe also occur in healthy populations.

When to go:

In terms of game-viewing, Hwange is a classic ‘dry season’ park, with game viewing best from July through to October when the large herds of animal’s flock towards the remaining and permanent waterholes. Outside of this time, dispersal of game and dense woodland make game viewing difficult.
