Found in the far north-western corner of Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park (also known as the Parc National des Volcans) is the of the main strings to Rwanda’s bow. 

An area of steep forested slopes - part of the the magnificent Virungas mountain range - the Volcanoes National Park is the setting for one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences to be had; gorilla trekking. Home to over half of the worlds population of Mountain Gorillas, this National Park provides one of the best chances of seeing this spectacular creatures in the wild. 

Gorilla trekking offers the once in a lifetime opportunity to search for our distant cousins as they meander through the luscious green vegetation. Once you find them, you can quietly enjoy every second you spend with them, watching their interactions with each other and you. 

When to go:

June to September is traditionally the best time to see Gorillas in Rwanda.
